This Time in May

I can't believe it's May already! We started the month off by celebrating Owen's First Communion. He participated in the service beautifully. We are so proud of him.

He said that this one one of the best days of his life! The entire family came over to celebrate. It really made his day. Thank you to everyone for coming out on his special day.

We also celebrated cousin Ronnie's birthday that day. I think she was a bit surprised we got her a cake. Unfortunately we forgot the candles, so she got the Number 1 and a few small ones.

We stayed up late that night and ate a ton of Asian food for a week that was leftover!

The next day was Mother's Day and I was treated to an amazing breakfast by my budding chef Noah and his server Owen. (Yes, Owen still has on his suit from the day before. He slept in it. I have a feeling this is going to be a trend that carries over in his teen years.)

Now that's an omelet! (Cheese and Jalapeno)The day was awesome! I wanted to do nothing and that's exactly what I did! The boys and Frank took care of everything while I ate, got some sun and read magazines. It was a perfect day.

The next weekend we were finally able to finish the backyard. Frank has worked so hard and continues this project. The grass is looking good and the kids can't wait to get out there and play on it finally!

This is before braces......

and this is after! Just a few days later Owen got his braces. He did great and hasn't been complaining at all. He does miss gummy bears and popcorn.

Our chickens are growing and growing! I love letting them out in the morning. They bring us such joy. Owen spends time in the coop everyday with them. The boys have been feeding and caring for them. They are doing a great job. Noah has been collecting feathers and plans to start making jewelry from them.

Ritzy is also growing. We wish he would stop before he needs a larger dog door.

Next we took off to North Carolina for cousin Taylor's graduation.....more to come in my road trip post!
