Fall's Beginning and Summer's End

Well, for those of you that don't know the boys changed school this year. Noah, who has been homeschooling for the past 2 years, wanted to go back to school. We toured a few and chose a small private Catholic school in the next county over. Thankfully Owen decided that he would like to switch things up as well, so for the first time in 2 years we have both boys in one place. Miracle!

Here is a mixed up chronicle of our August and September! October coming soon!

We had one last hurrah Labor Day weekend at Jenkinson's Boardwalk in New Jersey. I won VIP passes in a giveaway.

They have a great boardwalk with many rides. The kids had so much fun.

There is also an aquarium on the boardwalk. We had passes for that and the fun house as well. It was a great way to wrap up the Summer.

The boys had a wonderful opportunity to work at a local soup kitchen serving dinner and helping prepare food. We met a few of our homeschool friends and had a great experience.

The boat has give us the gift of an amazing Summer when we really couldn't go anywhere this year. We spent a lot of time on her and now she has been put away for the Winter.

I'm still blogging, but take it a bit easier. We were invited to a Hasbro Star Wars event in NYC and all of my boys loved it! We came home with quiet a bag of goodies!

I think these guys might just be a bit spoiled, but they don't know it!

Ritzy is still alive and growing fatter and fatter by the minute!

I can't remember if I mentioned it or not, but one of our new Spring chickens turned out to be a rooster! Our neighbors are being very kind about it. (For now.)

Our other Spring chick just started laying eggs. Here she is freaking out the guinea pigs!

We attended my college reunion picnic at Marist. The boys had caricatures done and we went on a horse and carriage ride around the grounds. There favorite part was the library.

We made a trip to Lake George and Great Escape for an over night. We get free tickets through a special program they have for homeschoolers. I couldn't go on many rides because I was still recovering from my rib fracture, but kids are old enough to go on their own.

Of course we stopped at Frank's favorite ice cream place Martha's before we left.

We didn't make it to the fort the last time we were here so we made it a point to get there.

The boys loved it, especially Noah.

Someone was being bad!

Someone else was being bad like their dad!

This was our last hike before school began. It was a bit chilly.

Owen went into the water, but Noah and I stayed on shore. It was so cold!! Who knew we would end up having the warm October/November that we have been having lately.

This was the best I felt all Summer. I feel so lucky that I get to live in such a beautiful place like the Hudson Valley and yet so close to the city. The best of both worlds.

Look for my October wrap up soon!
