Yes, so I'm still behind closing out the year, but here is the highlight reel for the rest of November and December!
The weather remained moderate through most of the season and the kids and I were able to get out for a few hikes much later in the season. We live in such a wonderful place.
Noah joined the basketball team at school.
He's never played before so we are still in that learning curve, but he loves it and is getting better!
The boys school had a Veterans Day assembly and Grandpa Allen attended. The boys were so proud to have him there with them!
As part of their community service work the boys collected donations and then helped put together "Bonnie Boxes", which are boxes of items given to cancer patients undergoing chemo.
Both of the boys made the school honor roll! Noah had a 93 average and Owen a 95 average for the first quarter. We are so proud of them and all of their hard work.
They also received recognition for their work with 4H. Both boys received awards for community service and also the Above and Beyond award for the 4H year!
December also brought the traditional cutting of the trees!
It seemed so much smaller in the woods!
We also had an amazing visit by this bird! We grabbed out chickens and got them back to the coop quickly- just in case this guy was looking for a snack!
The boys and I did our annual holiday caroling at the local nursing home. Frank stayed home to get the Christmas lights on our home.
The school had a Christmas concert and both of the boys sang with their class.
It was a mid-week concert and they loved having their grandparents come out and support them!
Owen made the paper again by supporting the dress down day program to raise money for a service trip to Nicaragua for a former student.
We made the boys special boxes for Christmas Eve that included a new pair of pajamas, an ornament, and hot chocolate!
After they got their Pjs on we let them open their stockings!
After the kids went to bed Santa came and filled the room with gifts!
Christmas morning 2015!
Happy, happy kids make for happy parents! Then we had to get ready to host our guests!
We are ready to serve!
We can make room for everyone! 4 folding tables full of family!
Some entertainment as well!
The whole crew squeezing in for the annual photo!
Squeezing again for Great Grandma!
Do you believe that Noah turned 12 this on December 30Th? Well, he did! Thank you all so much for the cards and gifts! He was showered with love all day! ( Oh, yes and the phone calls!)
He didn't want a cake. He asked for a Key Lime pie! This was a yummy one we got at the restaurant in town!
Happy New Year folks! We are ready for more awesome adventures and connections this year!
